James6 Whitney (Richard5, Richard4, Richard3, Richard2, John1), son of Richard5 and Mary (Perry) Whitney, was born 29 May 1760, Harvard, MA,[1] and died 15 Jul 1817, Harvard, MA, aged 57 years.[2]
He married firstly, 27 May 1783, Harvard, MA, Rachel Lawton, daughter of Jeremiah and Rachel (Wetherbee) Lawton.[3] She was born 7 Dec 1760, Harvard, MA, and died 14 Apr 1803, Harvard, MA, aged 42 years 8 months 7 days.[4]
He married secondly, 20 Oct 1803, Harvard, MA, Lucy Reed,[5] daughter of Israel and Jemima (Temple) Reed. She was born 27 Jun 1779, Littleton, MA, and died 13 Jan 1810, Harvard, MA, aged 32 years.[6]
He married thirdly, 8 Dec 1811, Harvard, MA, Susan6 Whitney[7], daughter of Aaron5 and Sally (Pollard) Whitney. She was born about 1785, Littleton, MA, and died 12 Sep 1848, Harvard, MA, aged 63 years.[8]
He was selectman in 1808-9.
James Whitney's widow's dower, late of Harvard, asks for her dower; name of wife Susan, 13 Mar 1817. James Whitney's real estate, late of Harvard; Richard Whitney, Jr. asks for a settlement 9 Feb 1819. Richard Whitney, Jr., Amos Batcheller, Rachel Batcheller, John Whitney, Isaac Whitney, guar. for Lucy Whitney Jefferson, Mary and Hiram sign, saying they are satisfied, 27 Feb 1819. He resided Harvard, MA.
