Family:Whitney, Peletiah (s1778-1862)

Peletiah⁷ Whitney (Moses⁶, Ephraim⁵, Moses⁴, Moses³, Richard², John¹), son of Moses⁶ and Sarah (Geary) Whitney, was born say 1778, and died 25 Apr 1862, Madrid, ME.

He married, 16 Nov 1811, Avon, ME, Hannah Blethen, daughter of Increase and Isabella⁵ (Whitney) Blethen. She was born 8 Jul 1794, Phillips, ME, and died 2 Nov 1861, Madrid, ME. They were very distant cousins, descended from different sons of John¹ and Elinor (-----) Whitney.

i.	Violetta Eastman8 Whitney, b. 5 Jul 1813, Madrid, ME; d. 24 Oct 1859, Madrid, ME; m. before 1834, Miller Hinkley.
ii.	Harriet R. Whitney, b. 31 May 1816, ME; d. 18 Aug 1884, Madrid, ME; m. 10 Nov 1834, Phillips, ME, Eben Berry.[1]

Notes

Some sources say Harriet m. 1837 Benjamin F. Whitcomb. This is contraindicated by the 1860 census record below, in which Peletiah is living with his daughter and son-in-law, after the death of his other daughter.
