John Milton8 Whitney (Josiah7, Josiah6, Josiah5, David4, Benjamin3, John2, John1), son of Josiah7 and Rebecca (Rice) Whitney, was born 1 Mar 1818, Ashby, MA,[1] and died 3 Jun 1886, Boston, MA, aged 68 years.[2]

He married, 26 Mar 1840, Ashby, MA, Emma Augusta Willard, daughter of Alexander T. and Tila (Oakes) Willard.[3] She was born 15 Oct 1814, Ashby, MA, and died 24 Nov 1881, Lexington, MA, aged 66 years.[4]

He was first a carpenter, then a manufacturer of organ keys. He resided Ashby, Groton, Lexington, and Boston, MA.
