Nathan7 Whitney (Ira6, Nathan5, Nathan4, Thomas3, Thomas2, John1), son of Ira6 and Rebekah (Hartwell) Whitney, was born 24 Jul 1803, Conway, MA, and died 27 Jun 1862, Warren Co., PA.

He married, 25 Dec 1829, Warren Co., PA, Susan Davis, daughter of Abraham and Ruth (Mead) Davis. She was born 24 Nov 1809, Youngsville, PA, and died 27 May 1888, Warren Co., PA, aged 78 years 6 months 3 days. She was buried in Youngsville Cemetery, Youngsville, PA.[1]

"Whitney, Ira A., Pittsfield p. o., was born in Youngsville in 1842, a son of Nathan and Susan Davis Whitney. She was a daughter of Abraham and Ruth Mead Davis, and was born in 1809. Nathan was born in Massachusetts in 1803; they were born in Youngsville, and had a family of seven children, four of whom are now living—-Ira A., Lucy, M. D., and Dr. William D. Nathan was a son of Ira Whitney, settled in Youngsville in 1824, and died in 1862. Ira A. embarked in the mercantile trade in Pittsfield in 1873, dealing extensively in all classes of merchandise, grain, seeds, feed, flour, lumber, shingles, clothing, boots and shoes, and does a general barter business to accommodate his farming trade. He was appointed postmaster November, 1855. He married Sabrina Mead, daughter of John and Eveline Mead, in 1870; they have three children-—Ella, Mary, Lucy P., and Fred."[2]

iii. Walter Van Buren Whitney, b. 28 Sep 1836, Youngsville, PA; d. 29 Aug 1841, Youngsville, PA, aged 4 years 11 months 1 day.[4]
iv. Ira Abraham Whitney, b. 18 Aug 1842, Youngsville, PA; m. Sabrina Mead.
v. Lucy Ann Whitney, b. 22 Jun 1845, Youngsville, PA; d. 28 Dec 1929, Indianapolis, IN; m. 2 Apr 1872, Youngsville, PA, John Walter Chipman.
vi. Melville David Whitney, b. 6 May 1847, Youngsville, PA; m. Florence D. Kinnear.
vii. William Davis Whitney, b. 28 Apr 1852, PA; m. Emma A. Baker.
